Which TikTok Shop seller metrics actually gate your account
TikTok Shop shows sellers a lot of numbers. Most of them are informational. A handful decide whether you keep selling.
The ones with teeth
The metrics that gate an account cluster around three questions the platform is really asking: do you ship when you say you will, does the parcel arrive, and do buyers come away unhappy.
- Late dispatch rate - measured against the ready-to-ship deadline on each order
- Cancellation rate driven by the seller - out of stock, cannot fulfil, priced wrong
- Negative experience signals - refunds, complaints, and disputes taken together
- Invalid tracking - numbers that never scan or do not match the carrier
That last one is the quiet killer for dropshippers, because it can look fine on your side. You uploaded a number. The upload succeeded. Nothing told you the number never produced a scan.
Seller-driven cancellations are the expensive kind
A buyer cancelling is largely neutral. You cancelling is not. If your supplier runs out and you cancel the TikTok order, that counts against you, and it counts more heavily than being a day late would have.
Where you have the option, a late dispatch is usually less damaging than a cancellation. That is an uncomfortable trade to make deliberately, but it is the right one more often than sellers expect.
The rolling window
These rates are calculated over a rolling window, which has a counter-intuitive effect: a bad week keeps hurting after it ends, and a good week takes time to help. Sellers panic at the wrong moment because they read the number as current when it is historical.
If you have had a bad patch, the fix is volume of clean orders over time, not a dramatic intervention today.
Low volume magnifies everything
On twenty orders a month, two problems is ten percent. On four hundred, it is half a percent. New sellers get suspended over incidents that an established seller would not notice, purely because of the denominator.
If you are starting out, the case for being conservative - fewer listings, suppliers you trust, items you know ship fast - is much stronger than it will be later.
What to actually watch
Check the late dispatch rate and the invalid tracking flag weekly. Everything else is worth knowing and not worth reacting to. And if you only build one alert, build the one that tells you a tracking number you uploaded has not scanned in 48 hours.
